are you too old to write a book?

I came across a post the other day from a writer who wanted to know if they were too old to start writing a book, something that they had wanted to do for years. Then I looked at their profile. A young parent, with young kids. And I'm thinking, what sort of B.S. was fed to this person to make them feel they were too old to write a book?
I won’t tell you how many writers there are out there who are successful, debuts, household names, bestselling and mid listers - who are in mid-life and well beyond. I'm not going to tell you because it DOES NOT MATTER HOW OLD YOU ARE.
If you want to write a book, write a book. Stop listening if someone says you're too old or too young or too whatever. Scroll past. Ignore.
There are no guarantees in publishing, as it's often said. But I can guarantee this: if you want to write a book and you let the world stop you, you will regret it. One day you will wake up and wish you'd listened to yourself.
Don't let that happen. Start now.
